FAQS
Do I need to book a reservation?

Reservations are not manditory, but are strongly suggested.  Especially if you are coming to Eminence just to visit us.  Online reservations need to be made at least 48 hours in advance.  Our booking system will allow you to book online with less than 48 hours notice.  However, if you do this, you will be in danger of losing your reservation without refund.  Reservations by phone may be made at any time.  Keep in mind the longer you wait the less availibility there will be. Walk-ins will be accepted based upon availability.  We never want to turn anyone away, but we do not have an unlimited capacity and we reguarly reach our capacity espeacially on weekends.

When is Eagle Falls open for tours?

We are open for operation everyday from May 1st thru October 31st.  We have 6 tours daily: 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm, 4:00pm, & 6:00pm.  The 8:00am and 6:00pm tours require a reservation.  Walk-ins are accepted for all other daily tours.  We also offer 2 nightly tours at 9:00pm and 10:00pm.  Reservations are required for both nightly tours.  For the month of November we offer weekend tours only.  In November there are three tours  on both Saturdays and Sundays: 10:00am, 12:00pm, and 2:00pm.  Reservations are manditory for November.

Do you operate during inclement weather?

We operate rain or shine.  We will however be on a rain delay schedule to wait out lightning or very heavy rain.  On very rare occasions we will cancel tours because of severe weather.  However this rarely occurs.  In the highly unlikelyhood that your tour is cancelled due to severe weather, you may reschedule.

When should I arrive for my tour?

It is manditory for you to arrive 30 minutes prior to your tour time.  The reason for early arrival is because we will need to harness you up and go over our ground school instructions with you before we can get you started on the tour.  We have tours booked all day, so we must stick with this schedule or we will get behind and have to make people wait who arrive at their scheduled appointed time.  If you do not arrive 30 minutes prior to your tour time you will be in danger of losing your reservation without a refund.  We will try to work with you and fit you in on another tour, but this is not always possible.

What are the age and weight restrictions?

There really are no age or weight restrictions per say.  We have had people from 7 to 83 years old take our tour so far.  If a child is 11 years old or younger or is 100lbs or lighter they will more than likely have to ride tandem with one of our certified guides.  If you have a larger than a 50 inch waist you will not fit into our harness.   Everyone else should be able to take the tour.  Our staff is trained to know what is a safe situation and will always error to the side of caution when there is a question.  We would rather you be disappointed about not being able to take part in the adventure, than to take a chance of you sustaining an injury.

How much skill does zipling require?

Zipling requires little if any skill.  Our certified guides will go over everything you will need to know during ground school.  Some people do find our sky bridges challenging.  We have improved our bridges to make them easier to traverse.  However, we purposely do not want to make them too easy or it would take away from the experience.  Some people have a little trouble with the bridges because, unlike the zipline itself, the participant has to get theirselves from point A to point B.  This tests peoples nerves a little more especially those who have a fear of heights.  When you cross the bridges you are attached to an overhead cable that would hold you up even if you were to fall.  People who do have a little fear of the bridges end up with a huge sense of accomplishment after they cross them.

What are the fitness requirements?

Our zipline tour does not require a high level of fitness.  There is about 100 yards of walking envolved to do the entire tour including the sky bridges.  So literally anyone can physically do our tour unless you have a pre-existing medical condition.  Anyone suffering from certain medical conditions may pose a danger to themselves and possibly even to others on the tour and thus cannot participate. These conditions include but are not limited to the following: epilepsy, seizures, serious head injury, recurrent black-outs, nervous system disease, recurrent dislocation of any limb, poorly-controlled diabetes, mental illness, drug or alcohol addiction, back injury, poorly-controlled asthma, recent blood donation, autism. No one should participate against medical advice. Also, a medical doctor should be consulted in advance if you have questions or concerns about any of your conditions. You will be asked to attest to your fitness and ability to participate in our zipline tour on a liability waiver that must be completed and signed prior to embarking on the zipline tour. In the event that anyone feels ill, they need to notify the guide immediately.

How safe is Eagle Falls Ranch zipline tours?

Our zipline tour is as safe or safer than any other amusement or thrill ride you may have partaken in.  Our course has been built by certified zipline course builders.  The course has to be tested and re-certified annually by accredited outside certified inspectors.  Our guides have to be trained and certified and re-certified annually.  We inspect and preform test runs daily before any customers are allowed on the course.  Even though our equipment and structures are tested to be more than adequate, we have a back-up system in place on every aspect of our course, from our harnesses to our platforms and bridges.  We even have a 2 zipline system that we connect our visitors to instead of just one, on each of our zipline runs, which very few zipline tours in the world have.  A lot of this is overkill because of the testing and engineering that is envolved with these elements, the likelyhood of failure is almost impossible.  On our course, we have backed up all of these elements in an effort to ensure that we never have a serious injury on our course.  Safety comes first.

What if I am afraid of heights?

If you are deathly afraid of heights this adventure is not for you.  If you have some fear of heights but are comfortable with such activities as riding a roller-coaster a ferris wheel, or parasailing you will be able to take part in this adventure.  As with these activities our tour is very safe with a very little chance of getting hurt.

What should I bring with me?

Tennis shoes or hiking boots work well.  Sandals need to strap to your feet.  In some cases, a light jacket may be needed for your comfort.  If there is a possibility of rain you might want to bring a rain jacket.  Shorts are okay during warm weather. Please, no baggy clothing or dangling jewelry. Hair ties are required for long hair.  Cameras and video cameras cannot be used on the tour.  No cell phones, no smoking, and no chewing tobacco or chewing gum are allowed on the tour.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations may be made 14 days prior to your reservations.  With the 14 day notice you may reschedule for no penalty or receive a refund minus a 20% cancellation fee.  Without the 14 day notice you may not reschedule or receive a refund of any kind for any reason.

What is the refund policy?

Other than the refund discussed in the cancellation policy section, the only other time a refund will be granted is if we cancel your tour due to a non-weather related situation.  Since we cannot control the weather, we will not give refunds on the very rare occasions we cancel a tour due to weather.  Although, you will be able to reschedule your tour in the event of a weather related cancellation.

How long does the tour take?

Due to the many variables involved, such as group size, tour selected, age of particiapants, etc. it is very hard to give an exact amount of time any given tour could take.  However, a good estimate is about 2 hours.  The tour will rarely take longer than that, and if you are in a smaller group it will not take that long.  So, if you budget 2 hours in your schedule for ziplining, you should be safe.
